TAWAU: Firemen rescued 40 flash flood victims in four villages here from late Tuesday to early Wednesday.
This is the second time in two weeks that the district was hit by flash floods which inundated several residential areas and major roads.The first was on Aug 29. Tawau Fire and Rescue Station Chief Jemishin Ujin said his personnel relocated the flood victims to safer grounds as well as to nearby houses that were unaffected by the flooding. He said they received emergency calls between 10.53pm and 5.54am, prompting them to deploy fibre boat and fire engine trucks to rescue the victims.
