Kota Kinabalu: Kudat town was flooded for the first time on Jan. 12, 2021 as shops were inundated with few feet of water.

Kudat’s sea-side location means the flooding was compounded by the rise of sea levels —- another outcome of climate change. Former Senator Datuk Naomi Chong said her brother’s textile shop along Little Street was under several feet of water, with power failure.
