THE safety of road users is an issue that can never be taken lightly. Among the vital aspects of ensuring this is the enforcement of traffic rules – which is where our boys in blue come in.
Police will issue summonses if errant motorists are found to have broken traffic laws, and this punitive action acts as a deterrent for future offences.
Of the total, 2,720 summonses involved notices placed on vehicles, while the rest were handed directly to offenders.
