is expanding its travel offering with its new Pocket WiFi rental which starts from RM8 per day. Similar to various Pocket WiFi providers, this is a service where you can rent a MiFi device that lets you stay connected in over 140 countries via a WiFi hotspot.Depending on the destination, the rates start from as low as RM8/day and it offers “unlimited” data that comes with a specified high-speed data quota.
Interestingly, there’s a redundant Basic, Standard and Premium option which appears to be the same offering but at a lower price. For example, the 1GB plan is going for RM8/day which comes with 1GB high-speed data followed by unlimited 512kbps. The next option is RM12/day for 5GB of high-speed data followed by unlimited 1Mbps and then RM22/day for 10GB of high-speed data followed by unlimited 256kbps. These same plans are also available for Japan and Korea.
Take note that the Pocket WiFis are currently only available for pick-up at KLIA Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 from the Tune Talk counter. There’s also a deposit required upfront which costs RM100 per device. So if you’re planning to rent a Pocket WiFi with 1GB high-speed data for 4 days , it will cost you RM132 upfront including the RM100 deposit.
