A VIDEO clip making the social media rounds shows people rushing to grab what appear to be 10kg packs of rice in a supermarket.
The 30sec video shows shoppers, mostly middle-aged to elderly, jostling one another to get at the rice while a man's voice is heard telling them not to fight over it as there is a lot of stock.Is this true?A check found that the incident happened over the weekend in a supermarket in Sandakan during its two-day Rahmah sale on Sept 30 and Oct 1.
“I think the customers were rushing and excited because the price of that brand of rice was reduced from RM36 to RM28,” he said when contacted Wednesday .
